DUY - upgrade to PT|HD

You will find below all the usual questions our registered users might have regarding upgrading to the HD-compatible versions of our TDM software. We also explain our policy about upgrading, and why we are charging for this upgrade.

  • Can I upgrade any TDM product to the ProTools|HD-compatible version?
    The list of products DUY has created over the years is very big, including one same plug-in in several forms of bundles. For example, DaD Tape has been sold, over the years, as part of the Analog Bundle, as an individual plug-in, as part of the All TDM Tools Bundle, and more recently as part of the Global Bundle as well. This has made us have to support a very big amount of versions for each plug-in. As a result, we will be reducing the number of these versions produced for ProTools|HD, simplifying the upgrade process.

    So, you can indeed upgrade any DUY plug-in you currently have, but you may have to upgrade to a more complete bundle. It depends on each case. All details are explained below.

  • Why is DUY charging for this upgrade?
    Developing the versions for ProTools|HD is not a basic update. We have re-written most of the code in order to optimise the new resources in the best way we could. Porting a modular plug-in (such as DSPider or ReDSPider) is especially complex, because of the important influence sampling rates have on the created algorithms. Finally, we have made 192 KHz versions of our plug-ins, except DSPider and ReDSPider, which have been left at a maximum rate of 96 KHz.

    Since we released version 1.0 of our TDM plug-ins six years ago, we haven't charged our users for any updates of the software. Now, with version 2.0 of our TDM plug-ins (compatible with HD and with Mix), the major reprogramming has led us to charge our registered users for the upgrade. At the same time we're giving the opportunity for users who have, for example, the Analog Bundle, to upgrade to the HD-compatible version of a product like the Global Bundle (getting 4 plug-ins more) at a much lower price than usual.


  • When are these versions going to be available? Where and how can I buy them?
    The HD-compatible versions are already available. Due to the complication of the great number of different versions to which you can upgrade from, we have decided to sell the upgrades directly over the net. These upgrades are not available from any stores. We can give you a link to download them or send you a CD by post or FedEx. This is what you should do to buy them:

    • You must be a registered user. If you're not sure if you registered with us, please ask us at registrations@duy.com.
    • Go to DUY's Upgrade Request form. You will need to enter your details, including your current serial number. You will also have to select which form of shipping you prefer (online download, Post or FedEx). We'll get in touch with you immediately by email or fax, giving you the details on how you can order.



  • My case is strange... I bought 2 individual plug-ins that don't form a Bundle. How do I calculate the price of the upgrade?
    Your case is not strange at all. In this case, we suggest you to contact us and we'll give you the price. We haven't included the complete pricelist on our website, because it's almost endless. We already arranged good upgrade prices for registered users before the HD-compatible versions came out.


  • What sampling rates does DUY support on HD?
