Many users have asked us what process should be followed in order to transfer their software license to another user. There are several ways to do this, depending on the product you have, the date you registered and several other factors. This page will guide you through the possibilities of transferring your license to another user.

Which products are transferrable?

• All TDM, RTAS, VST, AU or MAS products authorized on iLok or the old floppy disks.
• Please note that all products purchased as a bundle or package cannot be sold separately. Why?: We make important efforts to offer lower prices to users who purchase several products at the same time, in the form of a package. If you purchased a package containing (for example) 2 products at a certain discount, and sold it the following day as individual pieces at full price, you would make a profit, which would neither be fair on us nor on the excellent dealers who carry our products and make their living from selling music-related products. No exceptions will be made in this sense.

What are the conditions to transfer these plug-ins?

To transfer any of the products listed above, there are certain conditions to be considered:

• If the seller has requested a challenge/response authorization in the past 6 months, the product license will not be transferrable until a 6-month period has gone by since that authorization was delivered.
• The seller will have to complete a form and return it to DUY, signed, in order for us to accept the registration transfer.
• From 1 January 2003 we require an administrative fee to process the registration transfer, in order to modify the registration details and make sure that the new licensee receives the latest versions of the software. These fees are listed below:
  
  • TDM Bundles: EUR 80 each.
  • One individual native product: EUR 20.
  • Native bundle or more than one native product: EUR 30.
  • Individual TDM plug-in: EUR 50 each.

Someone wants to sell me a DUY plug-in. How can I evaluate its authenticity?

We strongly advise you to make this an important priority. Unfortunately, we have seen cases of people trying to sell unlicensed software over the net on Ebay or some other forums. At DUY, we can always verify for you if a certain user is registered for a product, or if the serial number is correct and can be registered. If you would like to verify the authenticity of any DUY product, please send us the email address and/or name of the seller, and the product they are trying to sell you. We advise sellers not to disclose their serial number publicly.

Software companies like DUY usually produce a limited number of copies of the software which are sent to dealers and distributors at no cost. These copies, called "NFRs" ("Not For Resale"), cannot be transferred to any other user.
