L.A. - based engineer, Rafa Sardina, winner of two Grammys, is a fond user of DUY Plug-ins. "I have used DUY's plugins on new tracks I have been working on for upcoming Dreamworks artist Jessy Moss. I've also used DUY for some dance remixes by a new band I am producing and on many other different genres of music."

Sardina explains how he's been using DUY plug-ins for his mixes. Enthusiastic about each one of the DUY's TDM audio processors, Sardina says that "DUY's plug-ins are not just useful, they are addictive!!!"

Uncovering some of his secrets when it gets to using DUY's TDM plug-ins, Rafa Sardina, who won two Grammys for recording and mixing artists of the likes of Luis Miguel and Macy Gray, now explains his impressions on his DUY secret weapons...:

"DUY's DaD Tape is especially great for mastering. I usually put it on the stereo buss to warm up the mix. It really does make it sound like analogue tape. I've never heard any other plugin do the same thing or close to anything similar. With this plug-in I am also able to fatten up drum sounds or warm up electronic patches. I am really blown away by DaD Tape".

"DaD Valve works great on vocals, bass, drums, harsh electronic sounds/keyboards, almost anything... I sometimes have to stop myself from using it too much. It helps to get rid of digital graininess of the sound really well."

"DUY Shape is a great mastering plug-in. I guess as the name explains, it shapes the mix very well and is very easy to use. It sounds better than most multi-band compressor/limiter plug-ins and it's more versatile. Works great on a drum subgroup master, and it easily brings out certain individual elements in the mix, like guitars, keys and percussion."

Rafa Sardina also explains that he's a big user of DUY Wide. He uses it on strings, keyboard pads or even on entire mixes. He says DUY Wide is "The missing link between a 2D and a 3D mix". Permanently busy with several projects in his hands, Sardina works on a Pro-Tools Mix Plus System with TDM and RTAS plug-ins installed.

Very keen with DUY's Tape and Valve plug-ins, Rafa Sardina tells us that "These are the two plug-ins that really stand out for me. They are incredibly good at what they're supposed to do and they really put the analogue feel back into a digital mix. I'm very impressed. DaD Tape is the best analogue tape emulation in the digital domain".

With just a few minutes to go before the next session begins at the studio, Sardina admits: "In my opinion, DUY plugins have a real character, not only in the way they sound and in their functionality, but also in the way they are designed. They are intuitive and very versatile. I'd like to have more time to play more with DSPider and design my own presets, and I'm very curious about SynthSpider. DUY plugins are definitely among my favorite plugins, and they sit at the very very top of my list!."
